Proverbs 3:5-6, Acts 15:3, 4 & 6, John 15:1-2, 4, 5, 7-8

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in God with all your heart; do not rely on your own insight.  Let His Presence pervade all your ways and He will protect your foot from the snare.

Beloved, what a beautiful promise.  Give me a childlike faith and trust in You.  Let me keep my gaze fixed on You always so that You can direct my way and will so that all I do, think and am is what You desire always.

Acts 15:3, 4 & 6

They were sent on their way by the Church.

On their arrival to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the Church, the apostles and the elders to whom they told all that God had done through them.

So the apostles and the elders met together to consider the matter.

Beloved, how clear it is from this passage that to trust in You means that we should trust Your Church which is entrusted to Peter's successor and the Magisterium.  If we do this we will never fall into a trap.

John 15:1-2, 4, 5, 7-8

Jesus said to His disciples, "I am the true vine and my Father is the vine-grower.  If any of my branches doesn't bear fruit, He breaks it off; and He prunes every branch that does bear fruit that it may bear even more fruit.

Live in Me as I live in you.

I am the vine and you are the branches.  As long as you remain in Me and I in you, you bear much fruit, but apart from Me you can do nothing.

If you remain in Me and My words in you, you may ask whatever you want and it will be given to you.  My Father is glorified when you bear much fruit; it is then that you become My disciples.

Again my Lord, You affirm what You spoke to me in Proverbs 3:5-6.  I must be one in You through faith, love, prayer and obedience to Your word, only then can I call myself an authentic disciple.  Only then will I produce fruit pleasing to You and which will last.  Keep me one with You Beloved, only then will I be safe from the snares of the enemy.

ONLY IN THE CHURCH ESTABLISHED BY YOU, MY LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST,  IS THE FULLNESS OF YOUR PRESENCE AND JOY FOUND.

John 14:27-28 & 31

"M--- mine, do you love me?"  

"My Beloved, You know that I love You although my love is sometimes emotional, sentimental and it see saws, I do love You and my dearest desire is to love You more and more each day."  

"If you love Me, then let everything you do be motivated by the love you have for Me."  "With the help of Your Holy Spirit and the intercession of Mary, my Mother, my Mistress and my Queen, I shall try my Lord."

John 14:27-28, & 31

²⁷Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. ²⁸You heard me say to you, “I am going away, and I am coming to you.” If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. ³¹but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father.

How true Lord, You gave us Your peace, that calmness and serenity of soul in the most difficult of circumstances.  Thank You for telling me not to be troubled or afraid. With You always with me I need never worry.  Beloved, it meant everything to You for us to know how much You loved the Father and that everything You did was only what He commanded You to do.  You did nothing on Your own.  Just as You and the Father are one, You invite me to be one with You and to imitate You always.

John 14:13-14

John 14:13-14

13 I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If in my name you ask me for anything, I will do it.
 

Beloved, You make an unqualified promise here, "Everything you ask in my Name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  And everything you ask in calling upon my Name I will do."

The key to this promise is this, You will give us what we ask for in Your Name in order that the Father is glorified through the work You do.

My Jesus, I ask in Your holy, powerful Name that the Mass we celebrate this evening will bring glory and  honour to God the Father.  I pray that the celebration of the Holy Mass, and the words that both Bosco and I speak,  bring You glory as we praise You eternal Father through Jesus Christ our Lord, for the gift of Sandy.

My Beloved, how quickly the days

have run into one another. It will be one

month tomorrow since You called our

Sandy home.  There is a large, gaping

hole in our hearts and lives and yet we

rejoice because we know that she is in

glory with You where no tear will

ever dim her eyes.

Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
4For a thousand years in your sight
are like yesterday when it is past,
or like a watch in the night.
4Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,

so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
16Let your work be manifest to your servants,
and your glorious power to their children.
17Let the favour of the Lord our God be upon us,
and prosper for us the work of our hands—
O prosper the work of our hands!

Beloved, holy, immortal, ever loving, almighty God- before any created thing was - You are God eternally.  Our days on earth, especially when sadness, suffering and sorrow is our portion for a time, seem to stretch to infinity and every minute seems like a life time.  Yet, in Your sight it is but a watch in the night.  Thank You for filling me each morning with the sweetness of Your love which makes me joyful the whole day.

May we who have experienced Your goodness and Your glorious power be also experienced by our children.  May the sweetness of Your Presence come upon us, remain with us and bless and sanctify all that we do for Thy glory O Lord. 

Matthew 13:58

58And he did not do many deeds of power there, because of their unbelief.

Imagine that Lord! Our lack of faith can render You powerless simply because no matter how mighty the miracle you perform, hardened hearts will refuse to believe.  Like Herod they will ask for a miracle in order to turn it into a circus.  You did not come to perform miracles but to redeem the world through Your life, passion, ignominous death and glorious resurrection which gives us who believe, hope.  Hope in the things we cannot see but which by faith we believe.  Hope that  You have prepared a place for us in eternity and which is ours eternally.
