Jeremiah 9:22-23
22 It is Yahweh who speaks:
“Let not the wise boast of his wisdom,
nor the valiant of his valor
nor the wealthy of his wealth!
23 But if someone wants to boast,
let him boast of this:
of understanding and knowing me.
I am Yahweh, the merciful;
I implement justice
and rule the world with righteousness.
For in these things I delight,”
this is Yahweh’s word.

Beloved, through the mouth of the prophet You tell us waht is true wisdom. It is nothing like the world imagines it to be. The wisdom of the world is foolishness to You. What the world considers valor and wealth, to You is cowardice and poverty. The truly wise person is one who understands and knows divine things, one who has intimate knowledge of You. Your Mama and St. Francis of Assisi come to mind. St. Francis was considered a fool and a mad man in the eyes of the world but to You he was a close friend and a brother. Once he discovered Your love he loved you back as wholeheartedly as it is possible to love this side of heaven.

Galatians 3:22-29
22 But the written Law has imprisoned all things under the power of sin, so that what was promised through faith in Jesus Christ, would be accomplished in those who believe. 23 Before the time of faith had come, the Law confined us and kept us in custody until the time in which faith would show up. 24 The Law then was serving as a slave to look after us until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith. 25 With the coming of faith, we are no longer submitted to this guidance.26 Now, in Christ Jesus, all of you are sons and daughters of God through faith. 27 All of you who were given to Christ through baptism, have put on Christ. 28 Here there is no longer any difference between Jew or Greek, or between slave or freed, or between man and woman: but all of you are one in Christ Jesus. 29 And because you belong to Christ, you are of Abraham’s race and you are to inherit God’s promise.

How well St. Paul expresses that the law was useful only for a while, once You came in to the world the law had no place any more. It became obsolete because faith in You alone makes us children of the Father. By faith we are set free to be who we are. We are no longer slaves but children who have the freedom to address God as Abba. Each of us is personally responsible to work out salvation with fear and trem bling. We cannot hope to shine on borrowed glory. I must hear God's Word. I must believe. I must make God's Word the standard by which I live my life without any compromise, no matter how difficult it may be sometimes or inconvenient, only then can I be numbered among the blessed.
