Psalm 111:5, 10, Philippians 1:1-11, Luke 14:1-6, Psalm 111:1-6

Psalm 111:5, 10
5 Always mindful of his covenant,
he provides food for those who fear him.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
prudent are those who live by his precepts.
To him belongs everlasting praise.

Beloved, God's covenant with us will never be broken for He is true to His word and that is why the Psalmist says that He will provide all that the one who fears Him needs. To fear the Lord is wisdom. Those who exercise sound judgement will obey His word. Most people are suspicious of the word fear when talking about You. I have no problem with it because all it means is to be in wonder and awe of You and rightly so Beloved, You are God. I can trust You as implicitly as a babe trusts its mother. Philppians 1:1-11
1 From Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to the saints in Philippi, with their bishops and deacons;
to you all in Christ Jesus:
2 May grace and peace be yours from God, our Father, and Christ Jesus the Lord.
3 I give thanks to my God each time I remember you, 4 and when I pray for you, I pray with joy. 5 I cannot forget all you shared with me in the service of the Gospel, from the first day until now. 6 Since God began such a good work in you, I am certain that he will complete it in the day of Christ Jesus.
7 This is my hope for you, for I carry you all in my heart: whether I am in prison or defending and confirming the Gospel, you are with me and share the same grace.
8 God knows that I love you dearly with the love of Christ Jesus, 9 and in my prayers I ask that your love may lead you each day to a deeper knowledge and clearer discernment, 10 that you may have good criteria for everything. So you may be pure of heart and come blameless to the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of holiness that comes through Christ Jesus, for the glory and praise of God.

Beloved, we must remember that all we do must be done with the Church for Your glory. St. Paul writes to the people of God as if he were their father and mother and this attitude must be in the heart of every catechist. We must never forget that God is already indwelling in the soul of the baptised. It is God who initiates the good work, who inspires and brings it to fulfilment. Just as a mother carries her baby in her womb St. Paul bears the ones he has helped to bring to Christ in his heart, nurturing them with his prayers for them and his tender love and concern for their growth to mature in the faith and become a reflection of Christ and thus glorify God.
One in Your Body Beloved, we all share the same grace - all are equal in Your sight. Our progress may be at different stages but the goal is the same. Teacher and taught are on the same journey and eventually the taught must become teachers in their own right - so it must be, as all come to the knowledge of truth. Only by becoming familiar with all Your preached and taught and through the sacred deposit of faith in the Church, can we be able to discern rightly and make right judgements. Only the pure of heart can hope to see You and that should be the desire of every catechist - that every one who is catechised is filled with the fruit of holiness, received through You and thus we attain l the utlimate goal which is to praise and glorify God - the true end for which we are all created.

Luke 14:1-6
14 1 One Sabbath Jesus had gone to eat a meal in the house of a leading Pharisee, and he was carefully watched. 2 In front of him was a man suffering from dropsy; 3 so Jesus asked the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?” 4 But no one answered. Jesus then took the man, healed him and sent him away. 5 And he addressed them, “If your lamb or your ox falls into a well on a Sabbath day, who among you doesn’t hurry to pull it out?” 6 And they could not answer.

My Beloved, how often we watch people with a critical and hard eye waiting for them to fall, to make a mistake, so we can self-righteously and smugly say, "Ah ha, caught you." In such times we must be anathema to You just as the Pharisees of that time were. Here was a man who needed help and all they could think of was the law. It has become a strait jacket for them and rendered them unable to be kind, loving and charitable. You came right out and asked the pertinent question. Often, we too remain silent because we do not want to take a stand and rock the boat. We want to blend with the crowd. The true man of God is unafraid when he is doing the work of God. He does what is right irrespective of the consequences. We are very anxious to safeguard our own interests but more often than not we turn a blind eye to the genuine needs of others.
