Proverbs 24:26, Matthew 19: 16, 21-22

Proverbs 24:26
An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.

Matthew 19:16, 21-22
"Master, what good work must I do to receive eternal life?"
Jesus answered, "If you wish to be perfect, go and sell all that you possess and give the money to the poor and you will become the owner of a treasure in heaven.  Then come back and follow Me."
On hearing this answer, the young man went away sad for he was a man of great wealth.

Beloved, how ofter we come to You telling You how much we love You.  We make a surrender of the will and make many promises, yet when You send some trial or difficulty we breakdown completely.  We do not want to make any sacrifices or give up certain habits, we cling to some material possession.  We cling to the comfort of the known and are too afraid to take that leap of faith trusting that You will never let us fall if we cling to You.
