Psalm 62:12-13, Matthew 7:6, 12-14

Psalm 62:12-13
One thing God has said;
two things I have heard:
Power belongs to God;
so too, Lord, does kindness,
And you render to each of us according to our deeds.

I thank You for the comforting and encouraging verses of this psalm.

Matthew 7:6, 12-14
• 6 Do not give what is holy to the dogs, or throw your pearls to the pigs: they might trample on them and even turn on you and tear you to pieces.12 So, do to others whatever you would that others do to you: there you have the Law and the Prophets.
• 13 Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many go that way. 14 How narrow is the gate that leads to life and how rough the road; few there are who find it.

It is true Beloved, the world is hostile to You and Your Word and so we must be careful to whom we offer the wondrous riches of our faith lest they be trampled in the mud by philistines.  All that You have given us is sacred and must be treated as such.

To love God means to live in obedience to His will rather than to lead a selfish and self-indulgent life.  Always treating others as we ourselves would like to be treated.

Lastly Lord, You show us the way to You.  Self-denial is the key.  It keeps us awake and alert.  If I make myself out to be the be-all and end-all of my life, I will lose all sense of direction and lose my way to You.

To choose Your will over mine is they way to peace and happiness.
