Wisdom 4:2, Isaiah 40:1-11, Matthew 18:12-14. Psalm 96:1-3, 10-13

Mass Reading for today: Isaiah 40:1-11, Matthew 18:12-14. Psalm 96:1-3, 10-13

Wisdom 4:2
2 When virtue is present we imitate it; when it is absent we long for it; it is crowned in eternity for having triumphed in the blameless struggle.

How true Beloved, that virtue is its own reward and in its absence one longs for it. The virtues help to live a life in the Spirit with joy, peace and hope.

Isaiah 40:1, 8, 10-11
1 Be comforted, my people, be strengthened, says your God.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will forever stand.”
10 Here comes your God with might; his strong arm rules for him; his reward is with him, and here before him is his booty.11 Like a shepherd he tends his flock: he gathers the lambs in his arms, he carries them in his bosom, gently leading those that are with young.

Having You Beloved, we have all things. If You be for us who can be against us? We trust You and we shall never be disappointed for You are faithful. Your love, everlasting

Matthew 18:12-14
12 What do you think of this? If someone has a hundred sheep and one of them strays, won’t he leave the ninety-nine on the hillside, and go to look for the stray one? 13 And I tell you: when he finally finds it, he is more pleased about it than about the ninety-nine that did not get lost. 14 It is the same with your Father in heaven: there they don’t want even one of these little ones to be lost.

I know Beloved, that the price paid for our salvation was too high. We have been redeemed and ransomed. Our lives have been saved by the giving up of the life of One who is not only sinless but who is God Himself. We are astounded that You have placed such great value on us who are such miserable, sinful creatures as heedless as a flock of silly sheep. But having paid such a stupendous price for us Beloved, it is inconceivable that any soul should be lost. No wonder heaven rejoices at the return of one lost sinner.

Psalm 96: 10-13
10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!” He will judge the peoples with justice. 11 Let the heavens be glad, the earth rejoice; let the sea and all that fills it resound; 12 let the fields exult and everything in them; let the forest, all the trees, sing for joy. 13 Let them sing before the Lord who comes to judge the earth. He will rule the world with justice and the peoples with fairness.

The Lord reigns!!! Let the earth rejoice, let the people be glad. Rule my heart, it is Your O Lord. Unworthy though I am - I am all Yours to do with as You will.
